Learning Their Way Mission Statement

Our professional and dedicated team at Learning Their Way provides a safe environment in which children can grow and learn in ways that will enhance their lives spiritually, physically, and academically. Our children develop positive social skills and values and learn about their world through age-appropriate lessons that help to foster development in the areas of literacy, math, science, social and emotional skills, fine and gross motor skills, Bible knowledge, music, and creative arts.

Danielle Budnik

Ms. Danielle is the Owner/Director of Learning Their Way. She taught Kindergarten at Learning Their Way for eight years and has eightteen years of teaching experience. She took over ownership and the director position during the 2020-21 school year.  Ms. Danielle graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is a Texas certified teacher and is ESL certified. She loves to read historical fiction, listen to podcasts while walking her dog, and serve others through her love for cooking. Melanie Burnett

Ms. Melanie is one of the Pre-K4 teachers at Learning Their Way. She is excited to start her second year of teaching Pre-K and having her daughters at school with her for another year. She graduated from Texas A&M University - San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.  She loves hiking and doing fun things with her family. Kara Baese

Ms. Baese is the Kindergarten teacher at Learning Their Way. She has been teaching for eight years. She went to Tarleton State University for her bachelor's degree and University of Texas at Arlington for her master's degree. She enjoys cooking, grilling, and baking with/for my family, swimming/going to the river/beach, reading, being in and exploring nature appreciating the beauty God has created for us i.e. state parks, nature/walking trails, nature based festivals, doing art with kids, and most of all - spending time with  her daughter Holly. Tammy Jackson-Magott

Ms. Tammy is one of the Pre-K4 teachers at Learning Their Way. This is her fourth year teaching at Learning Their Way and has twenty years of Pre-K teaching experience. She graduated from University of Texas San Antonio with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and has a Child Development Associate credential. She loves to play volleyball and is in a 9-pin bowling league. You can find a list of her favorites here.

Katie Kolinek

Ms. Katie is one of the Pre-K4 teachers at Learning Their Way. She has taught children dance at a studio she owned for 18 years before joining us at Learning Their Way last year. She graduated from Texas State University University with a bachelor's degree in Family Consumer Science and a Major in Nutrition and Foods. She loves to travel, go the beach, read, and having movie nights with her family. You can find a list of her favorites here.

Carla Perez

Ms. Carla is the Pre-K3 teacher at Learning Their Way. She has been the Pre-K3 teacher at Learning Their Way for fourteen years and has nineteen years of pre-school teaching experience. She graduated from high school in 1992 and spent many years as a family nanny. Ms. Carla loves to spend time with her girlfriends and family, go to the movies, and do crafts with her grandchildren. Angel Blakey

Ms. Angel is the intervention teacher & substitute at Learning Their Way. She has been a teacher at Learning Their Way for eight years and has seventeen years of Pre-K teaching experience. She is a Navy veteran and has several years of child psychology education from Palamar Community College in San Diego.  She loves riding bikes, spending time with her family and going to the beach. You can find a list of her favorites here.
